Appleseed Sequel site launched.

A new site has been launched for the Appleseed sequel ""Ex Machina".  There’s a trailer right on the front page.  I can’t wait for this to come out, as it has one of my favorite styles of animation.

Appleseed Sequel slated for Fall 07

The anime news network has a little post about the release of Appleseed Ex Machina.  I can’t read Japanese, so I’m taking their word for it that it’s going to be released in Japan in the Fall of 07.  I’m not sure when it will officially hit here in the states, but I can’t wait.

WB Scholarship

Warner Bros. studios have created a scholarship program for graduating seniors interesting in an animation education.  The $10,000.00 cash scholarship will be distributed annually and was created in honor of the late  Bill Hanna and Joseph Barbera.

Night Elf in Maya

CGSociety has a small two page article on how to create a realistic looking Night Elf portrait using Maya.  It’s worth taking a look at if you’re familiar with Maya and looking to expand your current skill set.  Nothing dramatically new, but good stuff nonetheless.

3 new Gnomon DVDs

d’artiste: Character Modeling 2 is available for pre-order from Ballistic Publishing.  The release is set for May 2007.  I have quite a few of the Ballistic Publishing books and they are well worth the money.  I don’t know about $145.00 for the Collectors Edition, $55.00 for the slip cased edition is well worth it.
