Adobe announced that they are going to be offering a free online version of Photoshop within six months. It won’t have all of the functionality of their full Photoshop product, but it will be free and ad supported. It will be interesting to see how this is implemented.
Some Pixar WALL E details.
February 28, 2007Jim Hill Media has a nice writeup on the upcoming Pixar feature WALL E. If you want to be surprised with the story, then don’t read the article. He’s very up front that he gives some spoiler details, so you’re warned in advance.
Bronze Sculpture
February 27, 2007I ran across this site that showcases the work of David Goode. I really like the character and style of the bronze sculptures. I think it’s tough to get an idea of the scale while just looking at the gallery. Some of them you can easily get an idea, but I was reading through his news section and he walks you through the entire process from start to finish. You can see him working right next to the piece which gives you an idea of how big they actually are. Lots of good info. I love to watch people work on their projects.
McFarlane MLB Series 19 lineup
February 26, 2007McFarlane has a page up showing pics of their MLB Series 19 linuep. I’m really not a baseball fan so I can’t say whether or not these figures actually look like the respective players, but I do think they capture action poses extremely well. I’ve heard some not so good things about working as a sculptor for McFarlane from people that have worked there. I think it would be cool check it out and see the process first hand myself, but they’re all the way on the other side of the U.S., so that’s not going to happen any time soon. I’ve heard them referred to as a sculpting sweatshop. Ouch!

McFarlane Series 1 Simpsons Figures
February 24, 2007McFarlane put up their "The Simpsons" online feature yesterday. The Itchy and Scratchy deluxe box set looks pretty sweet to me. The other ones look cool, but don’t jump out at me and scream BUY ME at all.
